About Me
Software Engineer & Technical Consultant Specializing in Custom Solutions
I started my career in manufacturing automation, where software has to work every time or production stops. That experience taught me to build things that are reliable first, clever second. These days I focus on web and desktop applications, but I still bring that same mindset: figure out what the actual problem is, build something that solves it, and make sure it keeps working. I'm based in Des Moines, Iowa, and work with clients both locally and across the country.
I've built systems that run in the cloud, on company servers, and on devices in the field. Most of my projects involve connecting things that weren't designed to talk to each other, or replacing manual processes with something automated. I also have experience with IoT and embedded systems, which has shaped how I think about building software that needs to work reliably in different environments.
I like working directly with the people who will actually use what I build. That means asking a lot of questions upfront and checking in regularly as things take shape. I've found that the best software comes from understanding the real problem, not just the technical requirements on a spec. I write code that's meant to last. Nothing fancy for its own sake, just straightforward solutions that are easy to maintain and modify later.
